Air duct repair in Tomball, Spring, Porter & New Caney
A lot of the time, the AC is working fine and the air just isn't getting where it's supposed to go. We go up in the attic, find the run that's crushed or pulled loose, and fix it. Homes are most of what we do. We're Class A licensed and based in Tomball and Spring.

How a duct problem usually shows up
Nobody calls us and says "I think my ducts are leaking." They call because the back bedroom won't cool, or the vents feel weak, or the attic smells like the inside of the house when the system kicks on. Sometimes the coil keeps freezing even after a new filter.
Here's what we keep an eye out for when we're up there:
- Flex duct that got stepped on and never popped back
- A strap pulled so tight it pinches the run
- A joint at a boot or the trunk that's come apart
- A return that's loose at the air handler and pulling attic air
It isn't always the ducts, though. A closed damper or a dirty coil can make a room run warm too, and so can a system that's the wrong size for the house. We check airflow and static pressure before we blame anything.
What we actually do on a repair
We start at the air handler and work out from there. Supply side, return side, the trunk, then every run we can get to in the attic, garage or crawlspace.
A joint that's pulled apart, we reseat it, fasten it and seal it so the air stays inside. A crushed section gets cut out and we put in a new piece the right size. Gaps where the duct meets the trunk or a boot get sealed. A loose return gets put back where it belongs, which usually fixes the dusty vents too, since that return was pulling straight from the attic.
Before any of that starts, we show you what we found and what it'll take. You decide. Our techs don't rely on commission, so the customer always comes first.
When the "AC problem" is really the ducts
We get plenty of no-cool calls where the outdoor unit checks out fine. The air just can't get through. Low airflow ices the coil, the system runs longer, and that one room never catches up. Fix the duct and the freeze-up that kept coming back often goes away.
Outdoor unit not running at all? That's an AC repair call. If your house has the small round outlets and skinny tubes, see high-velocity HVAC service. And if you're weighing repair against a new system, start with residential HVAC.
Air duct repair FAQ
How do I know my ducts need repair?
Usually it's one room. The bedroom over the garage stays warm while the rest of the house is fine, or a vent barely puffs when the outdoor unit's been running for an hour. Go up in the attic with a flashlight. If you see flex duct lying flat or a run hanging loose off a boot, that's your answer.
Do you repair ducts, or only replace whole systems?
We repair them. Most of what we find is one crushed run, a joint that pulled apart, or a return that came loose at the air handler. That's a repair. If the whole network is shot, we'll tell you, but we don't start there.
Is duct cleaning the same as duct repair?
No. Cleaning is about the dust inside. Repair is about the duct itself: leaks, crush points, disconnected sections. We do the repair side. If what you really need is a cleaning, we'll say so and leave it at that.
Can bad ducts make my AC freeze up?
They can. When a duct is crushed or disconnected, less air moves across the coil, and a starved coil ices over. So if you've thawed it, changed the filter and it froze again anyway, we'd look at the ducts before we touch the refrigerant.
